We offer complete turnkey solutions to record, store, channelize, and analyze data from wideband RF and radar sources. Our products can be used in a variety of application areas, including testing, measurement, signal monitoring, and telecommunications.

The systems are modular and based on the PXI platform from National Instruments, ensuring high reliability, quality, and performance. The RF hardware covers frequencies up to 26.5 GHz with real-time bandwidths up to 765 MHz. RAID units can save data at over 3 GB/s. Working with the PXI platform also makes it possible to quickly adapt to new customer requirements and to develop custom-made solutions.

FPGAs are often used in the products to get fast and reliable signal processing. The systems can be controlled remotely, which facilitates placement of the equipment as it can be located closer to the antenna and the user can be seated elsewhere. The communication protocols are open and can be integrated into other system environments.

CHANNELIZATION

Channelization of RF signals is used to extract narrowband signals from a wideband source. Our channelization solutions offer high flexibility and performance.

Spectrum monitoring and signal analysis have many civilian and defense application areas. Alongside the increasing usage of wireless technologies more and more signals are being transmitted. By using wideband receivers and digital channelization techniques, it is possible to analyze thousands of channels with just one receiver.
We offer customers both turnkey channelization systems, which stream the extracted channels via UDP, and toolkits that give the user the possibility to include channelization in their own systems. You can learn more about our products by watching the film and reading the product brochures.


PRODUCTS

NC-10 Channelizer – Now with better Spurs Free Dynamic Range

NC-10 is an FPGA-based channelizer toolkit available on the National Instruments LabVIEW tools network. It gives you the possibility to extract up to 1024 channels in real time and stream the channels for further processing. NC-10 is powered by ChannelCore Flex technology from RFEL Ltd. and NC-10 software can be integrated into your own system, needing only a single-slot FlexRIO FPGA board.

The system is very flexible, and unlike many other channelization approaches, each channel can individually be tuned in terms of:

  • Center frequency
  • Sample rate (bandwidth)
  • Gain
  • Filter selection
  • On/off

You can combine narrowband and wideband channels and have overlapping channels. The channels can be reconfigured in runtime, and reconfiguring one channel does not affect the operation of the other channels.

NC-10 USRP Channelizer with Direction Finding Capabilities

NC-10 USRP is an FPGA-based channelizer toolkit  to be based on Ettus/National Instruments USRP-2955 platform with 4 x 80 MHz RF-inputs. The system gives you the possibility to extract up to 512 channels in real time.

The USRP delivers phase coherent and time synchronised data – enabling customers to develop and implement direction finding and beamforming applications.

The NC-10 USRP is developed for use with LabVIEW, C, C# and Matlab. The NC-10 is powered by ChannelCore Flex technology from RFEL Ltd.

The system is very flexible, and unlike many other channelization approaches, each channel can individually be tuned in terms of:

  • Gain

NC-10 USRP-2955 Hardware

The compact 26.67 cm x 4.06 cm x 21.84 cm (10.5 in. x 1.6 in. x 8.6 in.) and light weight 1.59 kg (3.50 Ib) is ideal to implement in mobile applications.

Furthermore the USRP is running on 9-16 VDC with a power consumption of between38 – 44 W depending on application.

Availability

The NC-10 USRP is available for order in May 2017 and with first deliveries scheduled to October 2017.

NCR-2000 Channelizer Server

NCR-2000 is a powerful and stable channelizer server that uses wideband receivers and digital signal processing to extract up to 1024 RF signals of interest per receiver. The extracted channels are then streamed to external downstream processing nodes for further analysis.

When no channelization possibilities are available in the current system and you need to process many different signals, NCR-2000 is an ideal and highly flexible option. NCR-2000 can be configured to include two separate and individually tunable receivers that cover a large range of frequencies.

NCR-2000 is controlled through TCP/IP commands and can easily be integrated into a variety of system environments. The channelized data is streamed by UDP, and any computer can receive and process the channelized data.

RECORDING

Our wideband recorders enable you to continuously record RF signals so that they can be analyzed later. Having the data available for postprocessing ensures that you can perform the analysis you need. Read more about our products below.

Progress in scientific research, new technology, and other factors are leading to receivers getting wider bandwidths and higher sample rates. This in turn means that the amount of data needing to be saved is becoming larger and must be written faster. Novator Solutions has many different solutions for recording both narrowband and wideband signals.
The solutions span from connecting other instruments to record already digitized IQ data and analog IF signals to recording RF signals directly. Functionality such as pretrigger buffers make it easier for operators and technicians to capture all important events.

Novator Wideband Recorder (NWBR)

Novator Wideband Recorder (NWBR) is a high-speed recording system built for the PXIe platform from National Instruments, capable of recording signals of up to 765 MHz of bandwidth.

The system contains a pre-trigger buffer capable of storing content from about five seconds up to minutes allowing operators sufficient time to react to interesting signals.

NWBR is compatible with most NI RF hardware and digitizers. RAID units are used to store the large amounts of data. It is the perfect option if you quickly need to get started recording RF signals and other high-speed signals.

NWBR is flexible and can record both narrowband and wideband signals of different center frequencies and bandwidths. It is easy to scale to include multiple signals in one recording system.

The system can be used for both civilian and defense applications and be customized for airborne systems.

RTSRec Real Time Spectrum Recorder

 

Real-Time Spectrum Recorder (RTSRec)

Real-time spectrum analyzers can be used to display and analyze signals in real time. Unfortunately, it is not possible save the data for later analysis. Real-Time Spectrum Recorder (RTSRec) solves this problem.

This real-time spectrum recorder is a ready-to-run system letting you record the signal acquired on your Tektronix RSA spectrum analyzer. RTSRec includes both software and hardware, allowing you to record up to 10 hours of raw I/Q data. You also have the option of endless recording by using hot-swappable hard drives in the RAID system.

The RTSRec software allows operators to start recording simply and intuitively, either by pressing a button or by setting trigger conditions. There is also pre-trigger functionality, where measurement data prior to triggering is saved.

NWBR-2100 Channelizer Recorder for Wideband Global SATCOM

 

NWBR-2100 is a Channelizer Recorder intended to monitor the frequency span up to 26.5 GHz (40 GHz as option) with a 765 MHz bandwidth (3.6 MHz below 3.6 GHz).

The purpose is to detect and record interference on SATCOM frequencies. The entire band from L to Ku-band can be swept within 0.2 seconds. If an interference is discovered it can be channelized and recorded for further analysis. Interference is detected using a trigger mask.

As an option we offer a Real-time spectrum analyser (RTSA) –  to be used to analyse extremely fast signals, or signals hidden in the noise.

The system is designed for a 24 TB RAID. With a bandwidth of 1 MHz we offer up to 56 days of recording of channelized data or 1.7 hours for continuous recording of the full 765 MHz bandwidth. As an option there is a 96 TB RAID for even more storage.

The system can be remotely controlled using TCP/IP.
